======================================

The latest version of acarsd is about to be released

These details are mainly for existing users
if you are new to acarsd and find problems please ask
on the acarsd yahoo list don't sit there struggling

Please keep this file/e-mail in a safe place
I am sure you will need to refer to it
I suggest you print it out for easy reference
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are going to find several changes from 1.50
below I have listed a few does and dont's in order
to save you having unwanted problems and to try to keep
the help e-mails to a minimum.
The main changes are in the database system for both the types
dbase and the routes dbase.
Also Rene Hesse has been working hard to develop a now
well functioning system to update your flight route database
with the minimum of effort from acarsd users
Please install in this order
>From downloaded installer file run installer
you will already see there are 9 new files in here also
you will see there is a new sub-folder  plugins
now after running installer and creating new acarsd folder
plus sub-folders please  DO NOT RUN ACARSD at this time
please complete all below first  this is important !!!!
1] copy and paste all .ALPG files from installer folder
into the sub folder (for example) c:\acarsd\plugins
a] airberlin
b] flightgrid
c] iconserver
d] loglog
e] lookup
f] nbplugin
g] sasflights
h] zmsg
i] ttrans
do not place these in the main acarsd folder as before
they will not run from there.
2] regarding the flight routes dbase
you may now at this point copy and paste your old version flights dbase from
acarsd 1.50 into your new acarsd folder
this is called acarsd-flights in your 1.50 folder
when you first start the new version of acarsd [not yet please] it will autodetect this file and translate it into the new dbase format for you
The new file will be called acarsd-baseflights
3] Regarding the new types dbase system
DO NOT copy and paste your old acarsd-aircrafts.db dbase
file into your new acarsd folder
it will not work and may cause a problem
Now during running installer you will find under SYSTEM
you will find you can now control the types output
for both your reports and your screen display
for instance if you want type and con/num on your screen
as it appears by default in 1.50
the setting will be  4% :- 5%
set the 2 to your individual choice
DO NOT START ACARSD YET
but when you do under the database icon you will find a line
update aircraft db from Nick Birrels list
at this point you MUST be connected to the internet
click on this line
be patient  what is happening is acarsd will auto go to the web site which
nick's list is stored on, it will then auto download the latest types CSV file
place it in your main acarsd folder and auto change it into the new acarsd dbase format
Be Patient it will do it all for you
you will now find you have a new file :- acarsd-base.db
this is your new format types file
4]  you may now copy and paste over from your 1.50
if you wish any other dbase files you may have made individual changes to
i.e. the airports file
5] copy and paste over your translation table
if you do not have one I suggest you get a copy from
the acarsd web site
this may be more important if you are in North America
many of the entries will hit your screens at some time or another
6] copy and paste any individual maps you have created for your
location you will have to re enter the co-ordinates under the map icon drop down
7] At last you may now start acarsd I hope without causing any hassles
8] now regarding the plug ins
please go to database icon
under drop down you will find
auto resolve options
point at this and you will find other options
if you in uk/europe I suggest you tick all options regarding
finding and updating your flight routes dbase
bottom one is a brilliant add-on from Rene Hasse
this auto searches for any unknown flight routes
transmitted by the aircraft within the message box
The resolved Routing you found under the
Windows Menu -> resolved routings by zMsg
And the finding of the real flightnumber inside a message content And
set these flightnumber in the Translation Table for about 30 Minutes.
The Resolved flightnumber and Regs and Timestamp should be found
under Windows Menu  resolved  flightnumbers.
if you are outside europe I suggest you dont worry about
ticking the Air Berlin and S.A.S. options as they wont come your way
Hopefully I have remembered everything
I f you are stuck please ask  but only after you have Read and checked
all the above first
Have fun
